New to pottery? Learn the basics of the pottery wheel in our 6-week introductory class, Intro to Wheel.
Intro to Wheel, teaches participants the basics of throwing clay on a pottery wheel. Students will learn important pottery studio rules and procedures used in all of our pottery classes. Intro to Wheel class is mandatory for those wanting to buy a pottery studio pass to use the studio during open times. Once students have mastered the basic skills of the wheel they may then move onto our more challenging class, Intermediate Wheel. In this class students will strengthen their pottery skills and learn more advanced techniques.
The cost of each pottery class includes all supplies. Supplies provided are: 25 lb white clay, glazes, all the firing needed, and the use of our clay tools. More clay is available for purchase if necessary, although we usually find 25 lbs is enough for one session.
Pottery Wheel classes are recommended for ages 15 and older.
Into to Wheel is offered Monday afternoons from 10:00 a.m. – 12:30 pm. Classes will occur in the Pottery Studio at ArtsConnect Springfield Township Community Art Center, 9158 Winton Rd, Building A, behind the fire station.

Class Cancellations & Weather Closings
Don’t wait to register! Classes may be cancelled to low registration or fill up before you have a chance to register.
Class cancellations due to weather will be made one hour prior to class start times and will be listed on the homepage of the ArtsConnect website at www.theartsconnect.us. To verify any weather closings, call 513-522-2108. In most instances, classes cancelled by weather will be made up by adding an additional class to the end of the session.
Due to costs incurred planning for art classes, full refunds will only be issued when the ArtsConnect cancels the class. Class cancellations made within 10 business days of the class start date are eligible for a refund, minus a $5 administration fee per student or transfer to a new session.
